The artists of Casa das Tecedeiras are local women, deeply devoted to weaving — a cultural heritage passed down from generation to generation. With many years of training and experience at the loom, their work is transformed into products rich in history.

From clothing and fashion accessories to home textiles, décor, and functional items, each piece crafted here carries a unique identity.

In its mission to preserve and promote this tradition, Casa das Tecedeiras also serves as an interpretive center. Visitors can learn about the weaving process and the linen cycle. And since doing is the best way to learn, they are invited to try weaving on a loom themselves.

This space also operates as a shop, where visitors can purchase the pieces made on-site, as well as other traditional products from the Aldeias do Xisto.

Take the opportunity to enjoy a walk along the banks of the Zêzere River, and explore the charming narrow alleys - known locally as quelhos and quelhas - that are so characteristic of Janeiro de Cima.
