The relationship with shale is evident in the Sobral de São Miguel Bathing Area, which is why the inhabitants of this Aldeia do Xisto believe that it is the "Coração do Xisto” (Heart of the Shale).

But stone is not the only thing this village is made of. There are plenty of hidden treasures to discover in Sobral de São Miguel, followed by a refreshing swim in its pure and crystalline waters.

The River Beach of Sobral de São Miguel is located on the banks of the Porsim stream, set around the old bridge. Right next to it, a mill, a watermill, and a noria bear witness to the historic use of water power in the area.

The weir creates varying depths for swimming, and the space includes a synthetic grass area. A snack bar is located nearby.
