Around the Aldeia do Xisto of Fajão, in the municipality of Pampilhosa da Serra, the stunning rocky landscape of the river Ceira is a constant and refreshing company, either adorned with mills and stone houses, or offering us its clear waters for a refreshing bath as, for example, in Ponte de Fajão, from where you can see the “Gola Grande”.

The village is surrounded by fertile farmland, bordering the river Ceira, there describing a graceful 180º bend. Ahead of you is the Rocha Mountain with the Portelo steep slope and the difficult access to Fajão. Behind it, is the softest elevation to the Cruz da Castanheira.
