The beach is in an area of outstanding natural beauty where there is even a sand island in the middle of the river.
Peneda River Beach, located in the town of Góis, lies along the banks of the Ceira River. The purity of its waters offers visitors and tourists irresistibly refreshing swims.
It features a large grassy area and a sandy island in the middle of the river. The beach is framed by a stunning natural landscape, dominated by tall, majestic mountains, with a privileged view of the historic Royal Bridge of Góis.
This beach is part of the ColorADD project, a partnership between Águas do Centro Litoral, several municipalities, and the Blue Flag Association for Environment and Education. The project implements a system of color-identifying symbols on flags, designed to assist people with color blindness.
