ADFP - Association, Development and Professional Training is a social solidarity foundation, recognised as being of public utility and with vast experience in social support, health, and culture.
It is committed to intergenerational coexistence and the inclusion of various social groups, without discrimination on the basis of gender or ethnicity, with special attention to victims of poverty or socio-economic deprivation. It supports and integrates children, young people, adults, and elderly people of both genders, with facilities/services for people with disabilities, with chronic mental illness, pregnant women and/or with children who are victims of violence, cultural services, and health care units.
A large part of the employees of the ADFP Foundation are people with disabilities and/or mental illnesses, some of whom have management positions.
Besides its headquarters, ADFP has a number of services, residences and Social Centres spread throughout the municipality and neighbouring counties: Lamas Social Centre, Senhor da Serra Social Centre, Children's Centre, Miranda do Corvo Cinema and the Serra da Lousã Biological Park.
