From 13 to 18 June, Cerdeira - Home for Creativity is hosting the Wicker Basketry Course led by Mai Hvid Jorgensen. Participants are invited to explore the relationship between rhythm and technique and discover how these elements form resistant and functional baskets.

Focussing on small-scale creations, the course is designed to encourage experimentation and creativity. Participants will learn how to handle wicker to create various structures, each reflecting a unique balance between form and functionality.

The techniques are introduced progressively, allowing each participant to advance at their own pace, regardless of their experience. In the end, everyone will have a deeper understanding of basketry techniques and will take away unique creations.

Mai's passion for teaching and preserving one of the oldest crafts fits in perfectly with Cerdeira's philosophy, which is committed to rediscovering ancient traditions while giving them a contemporary twist.
