At the end of 2014, JACC - Jazz ao Centro Club invited Slow is Possible for an artistic residency as part of XJAZZ - the Aldeias do Xisto Jazz Cycle. The Aldeias do Xisto Network has significantly supported this effort to support such creation, establishing itself as a region of excellence in welcoming artists and providing them with the best conditions in which to work.
One year later and with their debut album still selling (both nationally and internationally), Slow is Possible continue to present their debut album. After the Viriato Theatre (Viseu), the Gil Vicente Academic Theatre (Coimbra) and Culturgest (Lisbon) they will present their work in two important festivals dedicated to Jazz. First offering a double performance (18 and 19 March) as part of the 13th edition of the Portalegre Jazz Fest and then at the 14th S. Luiz Jazz Festival, which every year brings together a significant part of the national jazz community to the Lisbon municipal theatre.
Promising and daring, Slow is Possible serve as a perfect example of ambition and sagacity within the new Portuguese music. They are not an orthodox (nor even avant-garde) jazz septet, but have a sonority that incorporates, in a gesture pointing to post-modernity, a multiplicity of various genres. Ambiences populated by shadows, a dense heavy darkness followed by ferocious and energetic outbursts, with Mingus at the head summarise the ghostly presences at the dynamic heart of their themes.
