This day will be marked by one of the most important moments of this festival, with the Iberian Mask Parade, which will feature the “Traditional Shrove Tuesday of the Aldeias do Xisto of Góis”.
The Shrove Tuesday Race, the Corrida do Entrudo of the Aldeias do Xisto of Góis has formed part of the International Iberian Mask Parade in recent years.
Several revellers will parade, following old traditions, in a large memorable masquerade party.
The “Traditional Shrove Tuesday of the Aldeias do Xisto of Góis” recaptures the past when the revellers, wearing traditional masks and dressed up – men dressed as women and women dressed as men – would stroll through the villages making noise, frightening old ladies and seducing the young ones.
