Lousã will host an international downhill mountain bike race DH1 (Downhill), called "International DH ALDEIAS DO XISTO", the 3rd stage qualifier for the Downhill Portugal Cup.
The Portuguese runners, competing for the national trophy, will measure themselves against opponents from abroad, some of whom have trained regularly in Lousã. Racers from 9 countries are currently enrolled: Germany, Andorra, Argentina, Belgium, Spain, France, Great Britain, Italy and Portugal.
On Saturday, 25th of March, open practice sessions will take place between 9am and 6pm, and on Sunday, March 26, official practice sessions will be from 9am to 10.30am, followed by qualifiers at 11am, with the final downhill run taking place at 2.30pm.
The race will take place on a 2.2 kilometre track, between Terreiro das Bruxas and the Aldeias do Xisto’s Mountain Biking Centre. The qualifiers start at 11am, with the event closing at 2pm.
This event is on UCI (Union Cycliste Internationale) international calendar and the Portuguese Cycling Federation, under the scope of the Cyclin' Portugal project.
