The Picnic in the Sobreiral of the Aldeia do Xisto of  Ferraria de S. João  is a meeting and fraternisation between all the cork oak sponsors and their respective families and friends. Each participant should bring their own packed lunch.

You can also Sponsor a Cork Oak tree. To date, of the 87 cork oaks trees in the Homeowner’s Association, 50 have already been sponsored. Invite more supporters to this cause!

A Hiking Trail will also be held, through which you can get to know the magnificent Schist Walking Trail of Ferraria de S. João. Participants will have the opportunity to choose the short route (1 hour), ideal for families and children, or the long route (2 to 3 hours), which will be accompanied by a local guide.

The Mountain Bike Fun Trail is a sporting event aimed at young people (up to 12 years old by age group), in which the objective is to complete the circuit MTB Trek Fun Trail in the shortest possible time. Participants can bring their own bicycle or use those available in the village, free of charge.

You can also enjoy the play "Songs, Animals and Other Fruits", performed by the Professional Company of Theatre and Music “Encerrado para Obras”,  which will enliven the afternoon in the forest. It’s going to be unmissable!

This event is part of the Aldeia Viva project, which aims to galvanise the village based on the promotion of rural, sporting, artistic and environmental activities, with children as the main target audience. The aim is to take advantage of the village's resources and actively involve its inhabitants by recovering and fostering traditional culture.
