On August 13th, all roads lead to Janeiro! The Grupo Desportivo Tigres do Zêzere is back with another edition of its monthly hiking series — this time with a very special proposal: a Night Hike that invites you to explore history, nature, and local heritage through the “Rota dos Januários”.

This 7 km walk, accessible to all fitness levels, offers a unique route between the Schist Villages of Janeiro de Cima and Janeiro de Baixo, including the iconic crossing of the Zêzere River — a symbolic gesture that revives the ancient connections between communities on both riverbanks.

Beyond physical activity, this hike is a moment of leisure, a reconnection with the surrounding natural landscape, and a celebration of the region’s intangible cultural heritage.
